Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care - Medsurg Oncology FT

Role Overview: The RN Clinical Nurse provides high-quality, safe, patient-centered care within an interdisciplinary team on an oncology unit specializing in adult cancer treatments. They implement the nursing process, utilizing evidence-based practices, and adapt care to diverse patient populations, ensuring individualized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

Perform assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, focusing on optimal outcomes.
Partner with patients and families through effective communication and education, respecting cultural diversity.
Coordinate and document safe, quality care using interdisciplinary methods, promoting teamwork and a respectful environment.
Support professional development by completing competency assessments, mentoring, and serving as preceptor.
Engage in evidence-based practice, research, and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Assist in developing protocols and optimizing resource use across the care continuum.

Qualifications & Skills

Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
Current RN license (single or multi-state), BLS certification, and required certifications upon hire.
Less than one year of clinical experience; direct patient care experience preferred.
Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills.
Ability to utilize technology effectively and respond decisively in emergencies.
