Role Overview
The registered nurse (RN) will provide high-quality, safe, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team on an oncology medical-surgical unit. Responsibilities include performing the nursing process, delivering individualized care, and collaborating effectively with patients, families, and team members. The RN upholds professional standards, legal requirements, and evidence-based practices, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and safety protocols.
Key Duties
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using critical thinking and evidence-based standards.
Partner with patients and families through effective communication, education, and shared decision-making.
Coordinate interdisciplinary teamwork, documentation, and delivery of safe, quality care.
Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence-based initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Support resource management and contribute to protocol development for optimal care delivery.
Mentor and serve as a preceptor for new staff and students, promoting professional growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.
Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required.
Less than one year of clinical experience preferred; clinical hours from accredited nursing programs are required.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and commitment to evidence-based practice.
