Registered Nurse - Acute Care - Medsurg Oncology FT

Role Overview: The RN Clinical Nurse provides high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care within an interdisciplinary team on an oncology unit. They perform the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, utilizing evidence-based practices and critical thinking. The role emphasizes relationship-based care tailored to diverse patient populations and involves partnering with patients and families to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and document safe, quality care through effective communication and teamwork.
Support performance improvement initiatives and participate in shared governance and research activities.
Serve as a preceptor or mentor, fostering a skilled and professional nursing workforce.
Adhere to organizational policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including safety goals.
Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum, developing protocols in collaboration with the team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
Licenses: RN license (single state or multi-state compact), BLS certification.
Less than one year of clinical experience; direct patient care experience preferred.
Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and technological skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to emergencies.
