Radiation Therapist

Role: The Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department applies ionizing radiation to patients per physician prescriptions, operating radiation equipment safely and accurately.

Responsibilities: Deliver precise therapy, perform patient assessments, document in EMR, educate patients and families, simulate new patients, ensure safety protocols, participate in quality control, and assist with on-call duties. They also evaluate patient mobility, adhere to radiation safety measures, and support clinical education for students.

Qualifications: Requires an associate degree or equivalent from an accredited program, ARRT-T certification in Radiation Therapy, and BLS certification. A minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience is preferred.

Skills: Demonstrates proficiency in patient treatment and simulation, adheres to safety standards, and communicates effectively. Ability to perform complex technical procedures and collaborate with the healthcare team is essential.
