New Graduate Nurse

Role Overview



The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following completion of a nursing program and prior to licensure. They must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation to maintain employment. This position involves educating patients and families, assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, developing and modifying individualized care plans, promoting patient safety, and participating in professional development activities. The role requires alertness and adherence to safety protocols as it is designated safety-sensitive.



Responsibilities





- Educate patients and families on managing illness, post-treatment care, and medication use.
- Use critical thinking to evaluate patient needs across physical, emotional, and psychosocial domains.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans collaboratively, ensuring patient- and family-centered care.
- Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Participate in safety, quality, and compliance activities, along with ongoing professional growth.





Qualifications





- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
