Radiation Therapist

Role: The Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department applies ionizing radiation to patients, ensuring precise treatment in accordance with physician prescriptions.

Responsibilities: Deliver consistent, accurate therapy; perform patient assessments and procedures considering age-specific needs; document in EMR; assist colleagues; recognize limitations; report adverse reactions; educate patients/families; ensure safety protocols; simulate patients and schedule treatments; follow safety procedures, including radiation safety badges and universal precautions.

Additional duties: Participate in quality control, on-call rotation, and act as a clinical instructor for students. Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned and adhere to policies and standards.

Qualifications: Requires an Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited program; ARRT-T certification in Radiation Therapy; BLS certification; minimum of 2 years radiation therapy experience preferred; ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.

Skills: Demonstrates technical proficiency in radiation therapy procedures and patient care. Must be able to operate radiation equipment safely and accurately.
