Registered Nurse - Acute Care MedSurg Oncology - Charge Nurse - FT Nights

Role: The RN Charge Nurse leads and coordinates daily unit activities, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care on an inpatient MedSurg Oncology unit.

Responsibilities: Oversee clinical operations, assign patients, manage staffing, monitor resources, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration. Conduct rounds, evaluate care quality, and ensure compliance with standards. Support staff development, promote evidence-based practices, and participate in performance improvement initiatives. Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, and leadership to optimize patient outcomes and unit efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills: Must hold an active nursing license (multi-state preferred), with Basic Life Support certification. Minimum of 1 year nursing experience required; 2 years preferred, with experience in a charge or leadership role advantageous. Demonstrates clinical expertise, strong communication, teamwork, delegation skills, and knowledge of safety and quality standards. Baccalaureate degree in nursing (preferred) and additional certifications like ACLS are advantageous.

Key Duties: Make patient assignments, manage patient flow, participate in discharge planning, oversee documentation, and ensure adherence to policies. Act as a resource and role model, fostering a collaborative, respectful environment. Support professional development and evidence-based practice, contributing to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
