Job Description
Role Overview: The RN Clinical Nurse provides high-quality, safe patient care within an interdisciplinary team on an Oncology Medsurg Unit. They practice in a clinical environment guided by evidence-based standards, supporting system policies, and professional ethics.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and individualized care.
• Deliver relationship-based, patient-centered care that respects cultural diversity and involves patients and families in the care planning process.
• Coordinate safe, effective care delivery through interdisciplinary communication, timely documentation, and promoting a respectful environment.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, research, and shared governance to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor, supporting professional development and fostering a healthy work environment.
• Promote evidence-based practice, clinical research, and compliance with healthcare policies and standards.
• Assist in developing protocols and optimizing resource utilization to improve care quality and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
• Associates or Bachelor of Nursing degree; RN license (single-state or multi-state compact); BLS certification.
• Minimum of 6 months RN experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments, respond to emergencies, and demonstrate critical thinking and time management.
• Proficiency in clinical technology and basic computer skills.
