Job Description
Role Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medsurg Oncology Unit provides high-quality, patient-centered care within an interdisciplinary team. They ensure safe clinical practices, adhere to legal and ethical standards, and support evidence-based care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using evidence-based practices.
Partner with patients and families through effective communication, education, and shared decision-making, respecting cultural diversity.
Coordinate and document safe, quality care, promoting teamwork, respectful communication, and performance improvement activities.
Serve as a preceptor or mentor to foster professional development and a healthy work environment.
Participate in research, quality initiatives, and protocol development to enhance patient outcomes.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma; Bachelor's preferred.
Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Less than one year of clinical experience required; direct patient care experience preferred.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
