Registered Nurse - Acute Care MedSurg Oncology - Charge Nurse - Full Time Nights

Role:

The RN Clinical Charge Nurse oversees daily unit operations on an assigned shift, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care in a clinical environment supported by evidence-based practices and organizational standards.

Responsibilities:

Directs and coordinates staff activities, makes patient assignments, and manages unit resources.
Rounds on patients, evaluates care quality, and implements corrective actions as needed.
Collaborates with physicians, staff, and leadership to optimize patient flow and safety.
Participates in performance improvement, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Mentors team members, supports professional development, and serves as a role model.
Ensures compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participates in unit staffing, resource planning, and clinical protocol development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
Current licensure as a registered nurse (multi-state license preferred).
Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred or required depending on role.
Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience; relief charge experience preferred.
Strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, effective communication, and teamwork capabilities.

Additional Duties:

Supports patient safety, documentation accuracy, and participation in hospital-wide initiatives. Acts as a resource for staff and promotes a collaborative, respectful work environment.
