Radiation Therapist - Outpatient - PRN

Role Overview: The PRN Staff Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation in the Radiation Oncology Department, delivering precise therapy based on physician prescriptions. They operate radiation equipment safely, perform complex technical procedures, and assess patient needs across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities

Participates in Quality Control monitoring and ensures accurate patient treatment and documentation in EMR.
Performs patient assessments, educates patients and families on side effects and treatment aids, and manages patient mobility and safety.
Simulates new patients and treatment fields accurately, schedules patients, and communicates changes effectively.
Adheres to safety protocols, including radiation safety badges and universal precautions.
Recognizes limitations, seeks assistance, reports adverse reactions, and follows policies strictly.
Engages as a clinical instructor for students, providing evaluations and feedback, and participates in on-call rotations.

Qualifications & Skills

Associate's Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy program and Radiologic Technology School (JRCERT).
Minimum of 1 year radiation therapy experience.
Certifications: ARRT Radiation Therapy, BLS or BLS-Instructor required upon hire.
Demonstrates treatment and simulation skills, attention to safety, and patient care competencies.
