Occupational Therapy Assistant

Role Overview: Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, plans and implements treatment programs for patients across all ages within an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute individualized therapy plans following accepted practices.
• Supervise positions such as students, volunteers, and observers.
• Perform physical activities including lifting, assisting with patient care, and frequent movement.
• Handle emergency situations and wear protective equipment as required.
• Work in environments with potential exposure to infectious, contagious diseases, chemicals, and other hazards.

Qualifications & Skills: Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations, physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds, mobility, stamina, and physical dexterity. Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to irregular hours and protective requirements.

Physical & Visual/Hearing Requirements

• Visual acuity with corrective wear.
• Hearing clarity with assistance.
• Physical activities including sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and twisting.
