Clinical Nurse - Oncology

Role Overview



Provides direct patient care in a specialized 30-bed unit focused on female patients with GYN Oncology issues, including chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, symptom, pain, palliative, and hospice care. Care delivery involves moderate to high acuity and complex interventions, coordinated by a multidisciplinary team of oncology-trained nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy, psycho-social support, and physicians.



Responsibilities





- Promote patient- and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Participate in activities enhancing patient safety, quality, and compliance, along with professional development.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with collaborative input, ensuring clear communication across care teams.
- Assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural factors.





Qualifications & Skills





- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current RN licensure.
- Experience is not mandatory, but two years of experience is preferred.
- Safety-conscious with the ability to work alertly and responsibly.
