Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Specialist provides hands-on technical support for day-to-day clinical and manufacturing laboratory operations. This position performs clinical and manufacturing testing, supports method validations, monitors quality control activities, and ensures accurate documentation and reporting while maintaining compliance with
SOPs, cGMP, Quality System Essentials (QSE), and applicable regulatory requirements.





Key Responsibilities


- Perform high-, moderate-, and simple-complexity laboratory testing.
- Perform molecular, serologic, and manufacturing testing of samples.
- Accession clinical samples in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Review, document, and submit test results for approval and reporting.
- Identify instrument, reagent, or sample issues and escalate concerns to the Lead.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly QC activities for laboratory equipment and systems.
- Perform annual equipment calibrations.
- Participate in method validations, feasibility studies, and assay development.
- Assist with strategic project testing and summarize testing/validation data.
- Maintain accurate records and technical documentation in a regulated environment.
- Enter and manage deviations and CAPA activities using
MediaLab.
- Maintain compliance with SOPs, cGMP, QSE, and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with training new employees and conducting competency assessments.
- Maintain annual technical competencies and required Continuing Education (CE) credits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Properly handle PPE, samples, and laboratory materials.
- Log and track incoming materials.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools to prepare and summarize quality metrics.
- Communicate laboratory results, issues, and reports to management and clients as needed.






Required Qualifications


- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Immunology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Related Life Science field
- Practical knowledge of immunohematology and molecular laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of NAT (Nucleic Acid Testing) is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on team projects.
- Strong technical writing skills for regulated documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, and clients.






Preferred Experience


- 0–12 months of clinical or research laboratory experience is a plus.
- Previous experience with molecular or serologic testing is preferred.
- CLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Experience with LIS, MediaLab, QC, CAPA, or laboratory validation is highly desirable.
