Clinical Director

Insight Global is seeking a Clinical Director for a growing Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Portland, OR. This individual will serve as the senior clinical leader for the facility, partnering closely with the Business Operations Manager and physician leadership to drive clinical excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and strategic growth initiatives. The Clinical Director will oversee all aspects of clinical operations while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and exceptional patient care. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Clinical & Operational Leadership


- Provide strategic oversight of all clinical operations across the surgery center.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered delivery of care while maintaining exceptional clinical outcomes.
- Lead and mentor clinical staff through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
- Partner with physician leadership and business operations to support organizational growth, operational excellence, and long-term business objectives.
- Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and best practices that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.


Regulatory Compliance & Quality


- Maintain readiness for CMS, state regulatory, accreditation, and licensing requirements.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention programs, risk management activities, and patient safety efforts.
- Prepare for and oversee regulatory inspections, accreditation surveys, and ongoing compliance initiatives.
- Monitor quality metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
- Serve as the primary clinical leader responsible for ensuring adherence to ASC best practices and regulatory standards.


Operational & Financial Management


- Collaborate with leadership on resource planning, staffing strategies, equipment needs, and operational initiatives.
- Oversee clinical workflows to maximize efficiency, throughput, and patient satisfaction.
- Support budget planning and operational decision-making related to clinical services, equipment, and materials management.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance while maintaining high-quality patient care.


Clinical Support


- Maintain a clinical presence within the surgery center as needed to support patient care, staff education, workflow optimization, and operational coverage.
- Provide direct patient care on a limited basis when necessary to support clinical operations.






Must-Have Qualifications


- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
- 5+ years of clinical experience with at least 2+ years of leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), perioperative, surgical services, or procedural care setting.
- Demonstrated experience leading clinical operations, regulatory compliance programs, and quality initiatives.
- Strong understanding of ASC operations, accreditation standards, CMS regulations, and patient safety requirements.
- Experience with staff leadership, workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and team development.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.






Preferred Qualifications


- BSN or higher degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- CAPA, CPAN, CNOR, or similar specialty certification.
- Experience leading AAAHC, Joint Commission, or other accreditation surveys.
- Experience overseeing infection prevention, quality management, and continuous improvement programs.
- Previous experience managing clinical budgets, capital equipment planning, or operational initiatives within an ASC.
- Experience helping scale clinical operations within a high-growth healthcare organization.
