Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for oncology patients
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy infusions, blood products, IV iron, fluids, and electrolytes in an outpatient setting
- Perform port lab draws and injections in accordance with established standards and protocols
- Assess patient and family readiness to learn and provide appropriate patient/family education and emotional support
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and revise individualized plans of care, including discharge planning for complex patients
- Utilize healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures — including Epic — to document and deliver care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC required
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
- At least 2 years of outpatient chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion experience required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with chemotherapy and biotherapy infusions, blood product administration, IV iron/fluids/electrolytes, port lab draws/injections, and patient/family education required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification (note: ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification is not accepted as a substitute)
