Key Responsibilities

- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtains and monitors physiological data; observes patient status and intervenes when necessary
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge; informs patients and families of hospital procedures
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel


Required Qualifications

- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors


Preferred Experience / Skills

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services with proficiency in applying nursing techniques
- Basic computer skills with ability to maintain effective working relationships across departments
