Job Description
Advance your experience in education and therapy working as a contract Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a full-time capacity. This rewarding opportunity focuses on supporting students in a dynamic school setting near Loving, NM. As a valued partner in student success, you’ll collaborate with school staff and supervising Occupational Therapists on individualized plans that maximize each child’s academic and functional potential.
Key Qualifications:
• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Valid state license (or eligibility)
• Recent experience providing occupational therapy services in a school or pediatric setting preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to supporting diverse student populations and adapting interventions to individual needs
• Knowledge of IEP documentation and compliance requirements is a plus
Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist to implement evidence-based activities and interventions
• Document student progress, participation, and response to interventions
• Communicate effectively with educators, parents, and other team members to support student achievement
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team discussions on student goals and progress
• Assist in the organization and maintenance of therapy equipment and materials
