Job Description
Position Overview: The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, adhering to legal, regulatory, and organizational standards. The role involves developing and implementing patient-centered treatment plans to improve functional abilities and quality of life.
Responsibilities
• Assess, establish, and modify realistic, measurable goals for patients
• Oversee and evaluate therapy provided by OT assistants, aides, and students
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and utilize therapy software effectively
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, families, and support staff
• Follow safety protocols, ensure patient rights, and maintain confidentiality
• Assist in patient evacuation and demonstrate dependable attendance
• Engage in community health projects and uphold company policies and codes of conduct
Qualifications & Skills
• NBCOT certification required; renewal optional
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
• Current licensure in applicable state; CPR certification upon hire
• New graduates are encouraged to apply; one year of experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and communication skills
• Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate good body mechanics, and work effectively within a team
Key Duties: Follow treatment plans, assess patient progress, supervise therapy staff, chart appropriately, and provide excellent customer service in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
