Oncology Registered Nurse

Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in the Radiation Oncology Unit. In this role, you will provide specialized care to patients undergoing clinical research trials and advanced radiation therapies.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver direct patient care within the ambulatory Radiation Oncology unit.
• Perform clinical procedures including peripheral IV insertion, phlebotomy/blood draws, and port access/management.
• Monitor patient status and side effects related to radiation therapy and ongoing clinical trial protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams, physicians, and primary care nurses to execute protocol-driven care plans.
• Provide patient education regarding radiation treatment schedules, skin care, and symptom management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Radiation Oncology or Ambulatory Oncology Care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and central line/VAD/port access.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license; current BLS certification.
Skills
• Technical skills: IV insertion, phlebotomy, central line/VAD/port access.
• Soft skills: Communication, teamwork, patient education.
