Role Overview:
The RN Clinical Nurse is a vital member of an interdisciplinary team providing high-quality, safe, patient-centered care in an Oncology Medsurg unit. They practice within a supportive environment guided by evidence-based standards, professional practice models, and shared governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking to deliver individualized care.
Partner with patients and families through effective communication and education, ensuring patient goals are prioritized.
Coordinate safe, quality care via interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and promoting a respectful environment.
Support performance improvement initiatives, research, and evidence-based practice to enhance patient outcomes.
Participate in professional development, serve as a preceptor or mentor, and uphold organizational policies and standards.
Contribute to protocol development and resource management to optimize care delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associates or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor's preferred.
Current RN licensure (single state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required.
Less than one year of clinical experience or completion of an accredited nursing program with clinical hours.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and commitment to evidence-based practice.
