Role Overview
Responsible for administering ionizing irradiation to patients following physician prescriptions, ensuring safety and accuracy during treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms and equipment based on prescriptions and patient needs.
Deliver prescribed radiation doses while observing safety protocols.
Explain procedures to patients and communicate effectively during treatment.
Monitor patients for reactions or complications, reporting any concerns.
Maintain detailed treatment records and review patient charts for accuracy.
Provide supervision and evaluate clinical performance of students.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Required: ARRT-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology (TRT) certifications.
Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in radiological technology; experience in radiologic technology.
Certifications in CPR or BLS; fluoroscopy permit and other relevant licenses preferred.
Strong attention to safety protocols, patient communication, and recordkeeping.
