Role:

Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for applying ionizing radiation to patients following physician prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate radiation-producing equipment safely, adhering to radiation safety measures.
Perform complex, precise technical procedures and deliver consistent therapy.
Participate in Quality Control monitoring and document in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide specialty care across age groups (adolescents, adults, geriatrics).
Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and use of treatment aids.
Ensure accurate patient set-ups, simulate new patients, and schedule treatments appropriately.
Follow safety protocols, wear radiation badges, and participate in warm-up procedures.
Recognize limitations, seek assistance when needed, and report adverse reactions immediately.
Assist with patient mobility assessments, participate in on-call rotations, and serve as a clinical instructor for students.
Comply with organizational policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

Associates degree or higher from an accredited program.
ARRT-T (Radiation Therapy) certification and BLS certification required.
Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately.
