Role Overview:

This position is for a Radiation Oncology Physicist or Associate Physicist responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and effectiveness of radiation therapy treatments. Working under supervision, the role involves calibrating equipment, performing quality control, assisting in treatment planning, and maintaining radiation safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with daily medical physics duties, including treatment plan verification and quality assurance of treatment devices.
Perform routine dosimetry, chart checks, and calibration to ensure treatment accuracy.
Design and fabricate immobilization and ancillary equipment; support brachytherapy source inventory and safety procedures.
Conduct equipment QA, including VMAT/IMRT tests and machine performance checks.
Educate staff on radiation safety, proper equipment use, and patient care protocols.
Collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain detailed documentation and participate in ongoing protocol studies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Ph.D. in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience; minimum 2 years in radiation therapy including residency.
ABR certification or eligibility, with Medical Physicist license within 120 days.
Proficient in radiation physics concepts, practices, and procedures with strong judgment and creativity.
Self-motivated, able to communicate effectively in English, and demonstrate a positive attitude.
