Radiation Therapist FT

Role:

Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments following physician prescriptions.

Responsibilities:

Operate radiation equipment safely and accurately, performing complex technical procedures.
Participate in quality control monitoring and ensure precise treatment delivery.
Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide age-appropriate care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Document all activities in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and use of treatment aids.
Ensure safety protocols, including radiation safety badges, universal precautions, and fall assessments.
Simulate new patients and schedule treatments according to physician orders.
Assist with patient mobility, report discrepancies, and perform additional tasks as needed.
Participate in on-call rotations and serve as a clinical instructor for students, evaluating and providing feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

Associates degree or related field from an accredited program.
Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
Certifications: ARRT-T Radiation Therapy, BLS or ARC-BLS.
Demonstrated ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.
