Job Description
Role Overview: The RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician provides specialized nursing care in an outpatient infusion setting, administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and hazardous drugs for malignant and nonmalignant conditions. Under the guidance of leadership, they ensure safe, patient-centered care that considers age, cultural, and psychosocial needs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments and deliver individualized, evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process.
Administer chemotherapy and targeted therapies, maintaining competency and compliance with safety standards.
Partner with patients and families through education, emotional support, and culturally competent care.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring accurate documentation and promoting a respectful, inclusive environment.
Serve as a preceptor or mentor to new staff and participate in staff development and continuing education.
Engage in performance improvement, research activities, and evidence-based practice to enhance patient outcomes.
Develop protocols, optimize resource utilization, and support organizational safety and quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Current RN license and adherence to professional nursing standards and ethics.
Proficiency in oncology infusion therapy, including hazardous drug handling.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and foster a culture of safety and excellence.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining specialty certifications.
