Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Nurse - PRN - Oncology

Role Overview

The role involves practicing professional nursing and medicine within accepted standards, providing patient advocacy, and delivering comprehensive care across specialties such as Emergency Room, Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Psychiatric Mental Health, Urogynecology, Oncology, and Rheumatology.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection: Obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and review relevant studies to assess patient status.
Assessment: Develop accurate diagnoses, including differential diagnoses when appropriate.
Treatment Planning: Create and implement treatment plans, order medications, tests, and coordinate with other providers, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Procedural Tasks: Perform procedures within expertise and regulatory guidelines.
Patient Education: Counsel patients and families on treatment, disease prevention, and health promotion, emphasizing culturally sensitive, evidence-based information.
Documentation: Record examination data, diagnoses, and care activities accurately in medical records.
Other Duties: Conduct telehealth encounters, manage urgent situations, and perform administrative tasks, ensuring a safe and confidential environment.

Professional Contributions: Lead and collaborate within healthcare teams, maintain competence through ongoing education, participate in quality assurance, and adhere to legal and organizational policies. Promote understanding of the roles of advanced practice providers and foster compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications: Requires a graduate degree in nursing or a bachelor's degree with credentials as a Physician Assistant, valid licenses, certifications, and registration, including prescriptive authority, DEA registration, and CPR. Preferred experience includes oncology and regional travel.
