Job Description
Role Overview
The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists by preparing, dispensing, and managing medications, with a preference for IV room experience. Key duties include filling, labeling, and packaging medications, assisting in sterile techniques for injectable prescriptions, and preparing IV additives. They maintain accurate records of medication preparation, inventory, and medication orders, including entering data into computerized systems. They also ensure sufficient inventory levels, manage stock control, and perform related pharmacy tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current national certification through PTCB or NHA
• NYSED Pharmacy Technician License
• Minimum of two years pharmacy technician experience
• Ability to learn hospital pharmacy computer systems
• Physically capable of strenuous work
Responsibilities Include
• Assisting pharmacists in medication preparation and dispensing
• Maintaining accurate medication and inventory records
• Managing stock levels and supplies to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
• Performing related duties as required
