Role Overview

Provides direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards.

The role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, education on illness management, medication administration, and post-treatment care. It involves promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, as well as participating in professional development.

The nurse develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring effective communication across the care continuum. Critical assessment of physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs is essential, respecting patient preferences and cultural considerations.

This position requires RN licensure with a minimum of a nursing diploma/associate's degree; bachelor's degree and two years of experience are preferred. Oncology experience is advantageous.

Key duties include patient education, promoting safety, developing care plans, and assessing holistic needs. The role is safety-sensitive, requiring alertness and safe work practices.
