Role Overview
Provides direct patient care in a high-acuity Oncology/Surgical ICU setting, assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care within nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Participate in activities that ensure patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team, ensuring effective communication across care continuum.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.
- Engage in professional development, including educational programs, certifications (CCRN, OCN, BMTNC), and simulation exercises.
Qualifications & Skills
- Active RN license.
- Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Experience not required; 2+ years of ICU or related experience is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a demanding environment.
