Role Overview
Provides direct patient care in a specialized oncology unit, managing moderate to high acuity cases, including cancer treatment and symptom management. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate high-complexity interventions for patients on Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Oncology services, supporting immunosuppression and neutropenia care. Promotes patient and family-centered care through education on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration. Participates in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and professional development activities, utilizing critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, ensuring culturally sensitive and individualized care plans.
Qualifications & Skills
- Accepts BSN or ADN; RN licensure required
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience (not mandatory)
- Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
Key Duties
- Implement, document, and evaluate personalized care plans with team collaboration
- Educate patients and families on care management and discharge planning
- Participate in professional growth programs, including fellowships and certifications
- Contribute to a safe, healing environment by adhering to standards of nursing care
