Clinical Editor

Day-to-Day:

In this role, you will be responsible for writing and editing clinically sound care plans used by nurses and allied healthcare clinicians providing care to pediatric patients in the emergency department care setting, with a strong emphasis on literature review and synthesis to inform evidence-based practice. You will leverage your background in pediatric emergency nursing to create and refine workflows within EHR systems, such as Epic ASAP, ensuring content is both clinically accurate and technically implementable. Your work will support alignment with accreditation and regulatory requirements as applicable to the scope of Elsevier Care Planning content. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, HIT vendor representatives and customers to ensure care plans are relevant, up-to-date, and integrated into clinical workflows.





Must-Haves:


- 5+ years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse (currently licensed)
- Within the last year of clinical practice, with 3–5 years of providing direct nursing care of pediatric patients in the emergency department
- Specialty experience in:
- Perioperative/periprocedural nursing
- Emergency department nursing – adult
- Emergency department nursing – pediatric
- Inpatient rehabilitation nursing – adult
- Acute care inpatient behavioral health nursing
- Experience with medical writing: publications, policies, presentations, clinical overviews, patient education materials, or graduate papers
- Hands-on experience with EHR workflows/systems (Cerner, Epic, Meditech, Altera)
- Experience with literature searching in PubMed
- Experience using AI to augment clinical practice
- Experience with group facilitation and strong clinical reasoning skills
- Proficiency with Excel
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)






Plusses:


- Certification in clinical specialty [Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN); Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN)]
- Professional membership in Emergency Nurses Association (ENA)
- Experience with Joint Commission, DNV or ACHC Hospital Accreditation Standards and CMS requirements pertaining to the emergency department care setting
- Experience with Epic ASAP or other HIT vendor emergency department EHR workflow










Compensation:

$35/hr to $40/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
