Job Description
Role Overview: The Oncology Charge Nurse (RN) provides leadership and support within a medical oncology unit, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
Responsibilities: Oversees patient admissions, transfers, and discharges; delegates tasks; supervises support staff; collaborates with medical providers to uphold care standards; mentors and trains new staff; monitors medical charts; ensures compliance with health and safety regulations; maintains accurate documentation; communicates protocol updates to staff.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing; minimum 1 year RN experience; current licensure or certification; BLS required; ACLS, PALS, or NRP certifications preferred based on unit policies.
Key Duties: Maintain a safe environment, support staff, coordinate patient flow, and ensure regulatory compliance in a full-time, day shift role.
