Cytogenetic Pathologist Position

Join our department as a Cytogenetic Pathology Laboratory Director, responsible for analyzing and interpreting results from karyotyping, FISH, microarray, and OGM analyses in oncological, prenatal, and postnatal specimens.

Key Duties Include

• Overseeing specimen handling, testing, and reporting to ensure accuracy, proficiency, and confidentiality.
• Developing and validating in-house assays for clinical applications, particularly in oncology.
• Maintaining standard operating procedures, quality control practices, and directing technical staff in proficiency testing per regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP).
• Collaborating with molecular and genomic pathology teams, participating in resident and fellow education, and engaging in research, publication, and test development.

Qualifications Include

• MD/DO and/or PhD in Biology, ABMGG-Certified or eligible in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics or Cytogenetics.
• Experience in cytogenetic testing, especially in oncology specimens and development of molecular/cytogenetic tests such as Optical Genome Mapping.
