Charge Nurse (RN) - Acute Care

Role: An Acute Care Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for leading and coordinating nursing activities in the Acute Medicine Unit.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate patient care activities during assigned shifts.
• Perform direct patient care as needed and serve as a clinical resource for staff.
• Assess patient data, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with an interprofessional team to improve patient outcomes.
• Identify and address gaps in care, ensuring seamless transitions from hospitalization to outpatient settings.
• Utilize evidence-based practices, promote scientific inquiry, and support practice improvements.
• Lead quality and safety initiatives, evaluate patient and family satisfaction, and support staff development.

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of RN experience in acute care preferred.
• RN licensure required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Strong leadership, clinical assessment, and communication skills.
• Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a safety-sensitive environment.
