Position Overview
The Director of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing financial planning, forecasting, asset/liability management, regulatory reporting, financial performance analysis, and strategic decision support. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and the Board of Directors to ensure the organization remains financially strong, strategically positioned, and prepared for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Executive Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide insight and recommendations regarding profitability, capital planning, liquidity management, and balance sheet performance.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, product development, pricing strategies, and long-term business planning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on financial matters affecting organizational performance.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting process, long-range financial planning, and rolling forecasts.
- Analyze key drivers of profitability and identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
- Develop financial models and analytical tools to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present financial reports and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Asset/Liability Management
- Oversee asset/liability management activities, including interest rate risk analysis and balance sheet positioning.
- Monitor liquidity, funding strategies, and capital adequacy.
- Partner with key stakeholders to optimize earnings while maintaining sound risk management practices.
- Utilize scenario analysis and financial modeling to support investment and balance sheet strategies.
Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversight
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Maintain the integrity of financial systems, reporting processes, and internal controls.
- Manage oversight of reserves, Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL), and related accounting considerations.
Regulatory Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely completion of all required regulatory filings and financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, accounting standards, and internal control frameworks.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
- Stay informed on changing regulatory and accounting requirements impacting the organization.
Capital & Liquidity Management
- Support capital planning initiatives and monitor key capital ratios.
- Oversee liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, and funding strategies.
- Provide analysis regarding capital deployment, dividend strategies, and stress-testing activities.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance and accounting team.
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop future leaders while supporting the ongoing growth and success of the department.
Process Improvement & Innovation
- Enhance reporting capabilities, financial systems, and analytical tools.
- Drive automation and process improvements that increase efficiency and support better decision-making.
