Triage Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Role Overview:

The RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician provides specialized nursing care in outpatient infusion centers, administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and hazardous drugs for malignant and nonmalignant conditions. Under the guidance of the Manager Infusion Therapy, they ensure safe, patient-centered care tailored to individual and cultural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practices.
Deliver relationship-based, culturally aware, and age-appropriate care, engaging patients and families in education and shared decision-making.
Administer complex therapies, including chemotherapy and targeted agents, maintaining competency and safety standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams through effective communication and documentation, promoting a respectful, inclusive environment.
Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence-based initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Serve as a preceptor or mentor for new staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
Support protocol development, resource management, and compliance with regulatory, safety, and accreditation standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Prior oncology infusion experience is required.
Current RN license, with ongoing competency in chemotherapy administration.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to work collaboratively.
Commitment to professional growth, continuing education, and specialty certification in oncology nursing.
Ability to adapt to multiple settings, including float assignments within a designated geographic area.

Additional Duties:

Attend staff meetings, in-services, and participate in special projects, ensuring continuous improvement in patient care and team performance.
