Travel RN - Med/Surg - Oncology

American Traveler is hiring an Oncology Infusion RN with at least 1 year of specialty experience for a teaching hospital, requiring an active or pending MN RN license.

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• BLS certification required; Chemo (ONS/ONCC) certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of oncology specialty experience required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line care, and chemotherapy administration required
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, and sepsis required
• Experience recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values required
• Minimum of 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Copy of certifications and Nursys verification required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Inpatient oncology infusion unit within an acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
• Night shift (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) and day shift (7:00 AM-7:30 PM) 3x12 hour schedules available
• Every 3rd weekend shift required
• Floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Epic (Excellian) charting system used
• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, port and central line management, and monitoring for oncologic emergencies
• Support psychosocial care needs including patient/family education, symptom management, and hospice care coordination
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates accepted only within 100 miles of the facility
• Candidates must be gone at least 3 months since last worked as a perm staff or per diem employee at this health system
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days
