Travel RN - Med/Surg - Oncology

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Oncology for an outpatient infusion center requiring IL RN licensure and ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience required
• Chemotherapy administration experience required
• Peripheral IV, Port-a-Cath, and PICC line access skills required
• Strong assessment skills with ability to recognize adverse reactions
• Comfortable drawing blood from ports for lab work
• Candidate's middle name/initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Outpatient oncology infusion unit within a Same Day Surgery area, featuring 5 infusion chairs
• Adult oncology patients receiving long-term IV antibiotics, injections, blood and platelet infusions, and chemotherapy agents
• Average of 10 patients per day, with no chemo patients scheduled after approximately 1400
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 0800-1630
• No weekend rotation and no on-call requirements
• Floating required to two additional infusion centers
• EPIC EMR preferred but not required
• Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Administer chemotherapy, infusions, and injections to adult oncology patients in an outpatient setting
• Work alongside a shared clinic lead, on-site schedulers, one other infusion RN, and access to on-call hospitalist/ED support and rapid response as needed
• General facility orientation plus one shift of unit-specific orientation to learn workflow
• Unit closes on major holidays
• Up to 7 days of requested time off can be approved
• Navy scrub color required
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers accepted, though experienced travelers preferred
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before eligibility
