Our state-of-the-art facility, located at St. David's South Austin Medical Center, is the only FACT accredited center in this area, offering innovative treatments close to home.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our TCT unit, you will play a critical role in the care of patients undergoing stem cell transplants, Car T cell therapies, and those involved in clinical trials. Your dedication will enhance patient outcomes as you manage the complex needs of individuals with acute leukemia, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other oncological emergencies.
In this dynamic inpatient environment, you will care for a maximum of 4 patients at one time, ensuring they receive the highest standards of evidence-based care.
Program Highlights:
• Exclusive Very Immunocompromised Program (VIP) for identifying and treating cancer patients swiftly in the ER.
• Collaboration with our Outpatient Cancer Care Clinic for seamless patient transitions.
• Specialized educational support for new hires with ongoing professional development.
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary team including physicians, APPs, social workers, dieticians, chaplains, and rehabilitation therapists.
• Contributing to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Fundraiser.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Chemotherapy and biotherapy administration and management.
• Transfusion of blood products.
• Providing evidence-based care for patients with central venous access devices.
• Administering autologous, allogeneic transplants, and cellular therapies at the bedside under physician supervision.
• Managing toxicities from oncological treatments and monitoring investigational protocol adherence.
• Telemetry monitoring and active participation within the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
• Preferred: 1 year of acute nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current State of Texas RN license or Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license required within 90 days of hire).
• BLS certification per St. David's Healthcare policy; ACLS certification required within the first year of hire.
• Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Provider card needed within the first 6 months of hire; OCN and/or BMTCN certification preferred.
