As a vital member of the Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) Clinic, you will provide compassionate care to adults facing blood cancer and hematologic disorders in an outpatient setting. We are affiliated with Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare, and proudly hold the distinction of being the only FACT accredited facility in Austin, Texas.
In your role as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the TCT Clinic, you will deliver care to patients undergoing blood and marrow transplants or dealing with hematologic and oncologic disorders, including acute leukemia, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Utilizing nursing processes to coordinate and administer holistic nursing care to patients.
• Considering age-related factors in the assessment, care, and treatment of oncology patients.
• Understanding and applying principles of death and dying when caring for terminally ill oncology patients.
• Providing emotional, spiritual, religious, and cultural support to patients and their families.
• Applying foundational principles of oncology nursing in practice.
Qualifications for this position include:
• At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Educational requirements:
• An Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Licensure and certifications:
• A current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or a Compact Registered Nursing License (if using a Compact License, a Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with St. David's Healthcare policy.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider certification is preferred.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is preferred.
