As a Registered Nurse (RN) on our Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) unit, you will play a vital role in treating adults facing blood cancers and hematologic disorders. We are proud to be the only FACT accredited facility in Austin, Texas, providing cutting-edge treatments like stem cell transplants and CAR T-cell therapies.
About the Role
In this role, you will provide care for patients undergoing blood and marrow transplants and those experiencing oncological emergencies. Our TCT unit comprises a supportive interdisciplinary team and focuses on delivering exceptional care. You will manage a maximum of four patients, ensuring each receives personalized and evidence-based treatment.
Program Highlights
• The only facility in Austin offering a Very Immunocompromised Program (VIP) for oncology patients.
• Close teamwork with our Outpatient Cancer Care Clinic.
• Specialized educator support for new hires with ongoing education opportunities.
• A comprehensive interdisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, dieticians, and more.
• Annual involvement in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Fundraiser.
As a Registered Nurse in our TCT unit, your responsibilities will include:
• Chemotherapy and biotherapy administration and management.
• Transfusion of blood products.
• Providing evidence-based care for patients with central venous access devices.
• Administering autologous and allogeneic transplants at the bedside under physician supervision.
• Managing toxicities associated with oncological treatments.
• Participating in investigational protocol administration and monitoring.
• Telemetry monitoring and post-operative management.
• Active participation in our interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications
For this position, we are looking for candidates with:
• 1 year of acute nursing experience preferred.
Education:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Nursing License (must obtain Texas license within 90 days of hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within the first year.
• Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate within the first 6 months.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or Blood & Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN) certification preferred.
