Work Shift

Full-Time Days, 7am-7pm at Cobb Hospital.

This role is located in our Oncology Medsurg Unit, a 28-bed unit focused on providing exceptional care for adult cancer patients requiring inpatient treatments, available 24/7. We also accommodate inpatient hospice needs and Oncology Medical-Surgical Telemetry.

Job Summary:

The RN Clinical Nurse plays a crucial role as part of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, individualized, and safe patient care. Working within a supported framework guided by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, you will uphold the principles of excellence and evidence-based practice.

As a licensed professional, you will adhere to the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics put forth by the American Nurses Association, while supporting our system's policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
• Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: Utilize the Nursing Process effectively through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care rooted in evidence-based practice.
• Provide culturally competent, relationship-centered care tailored to diverse patient populations.
• Engage with patients and their families in care discussions, ensuring their goals are central to the care plan.
• Practice in accordance with current clinical standards.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and documentation of care, promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
• Contribute to a collaborative workplace fostering retention and recruitment of healthcare team members.
• Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives and promote shared governance at all levels.
• Professional Development and Initiative: Complete ongoing competency assessments and serve as a preceptor or mentor to foster a qualified workforce.
• Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Champion evidence-based practice, participating in initiatives that improve patient care quality.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare policies and best practices.
• Resources and Support: Strategically plan for comprehensive patient care, working with colleagues to develop protocols that drive best outcomes.
• Support efficient use of resources in the care delivery process.

Other duties as assigned. Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies and codes of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:
• Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
• RN license (Single State or Compact)
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Required Minimum Experience:

Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred; graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
