Job Summary:
The Oncology Infusion Therapy Registered Nurse plays a vital role in providing expert nursing care under the guidance of the Manager of Infusion Therapy or another designated leader. This RN demonstrates clinical expertise in the administration of oncology infusion therapies, including hazardous drug therapies for both malignant and non-malignant conditions.
In this position, you will regularly administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastic agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies in an outpatient infusion center, with the possibility of working in alternative settings as needed.
You will be responsible for offering safe, patient-centered care that takes into account the diverse biological, emotional, developmental, and educational needs of patients and their families. The RN serves as a clinical resource for fellow nursing staff and medical personnel, ensuring that all care delivered aligns with the highest standards of practice as defined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association's Code of Ethics.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will participate in staff meetings, in-services, special projects, and ongoing education. This role includes opportunities to mentor newly hired RN colleagues. Local travel is required, and float staff will be expected to move between Cobb Hospital units based on patient care needs. All assignments are within a 35-mile radius of Cobb Hospital.
