Registered Nurse - Per Diem

Position: Registered Nurse - Infusion

Location: Elmhurst Cancer Center

Level: Per Diem Level 3 (111-144 hours every 6 weeks)

Hours: Varying shifts Monday - Friday, on-call weekends, rotating holidays

Summary: This role involves providing high-quality, individualized nursing care to infusion therapy patients, including those receiving standard injections, infusion treatments, and research protocols. The nurse must be proficient in vascular access, medication preparation, and administration, ensuring safety and adherence to policies. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, collaborating with team members, and maintaining current standards of practice. The nurse will guide and supervise staff, promote safety, document thoroughly, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of staff nurse experience; infusion, hematology/oncology experience preferred
• Associate's in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred
• Current Illinois Nursing license required
• CPR certification through American Heart Association required
• Current Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Card strongly preferred

Key Duties:

• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care in infusion settings
• Manage vascular access and handle injectable/infused agents safely
• Perform nursing activities per policies, integrating research and best practices
• Collaborate with colleagues, promote safety, and supervise staff
• Maintain thorough documentation and ensure professional growth
