Role Overview
This position involves practicing professional nursing by performing independent and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted standards. Responsibilities include health promotion, supportive and restorative care, disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of various conditions, using specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, building rapport, and understanding members’ needs. It requires adherence to quality, safety, and emergency policies, ensuring patient safety during medication administration, procedures, and infection control.
Key Responsibilities
• Collect and assess health data, analyze reports, and develop care plans.
• Prioritize patient needs, triage in person or via phone, and implement appropriate actions.
• Evaluate emergencies and initiate nursing interventions.
• Provide health education and counseling to patients and families.
• Execute delegated medical functions, including administering medications and therapies.
• Coordinate care, manage patient populations, and advocate for patients.
Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum one year of RN experience and oncology experience within the last five years.
• Graduate of an approved RN program with clinical experience under supervision.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (Colorado), with BLS certification within three months of hire, and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification.
• Strong customer service, critical thinking, IV skills, and team collaboration abilities.
Additional requirements include travel within the Denver/Boulder region for clinic visits.
