Job Description
Role: The RN Clinical Nurse on the Medsurg Oncology Unit provides high-quality, individualized patient care within a collaborative interdisciplinary team, ensuring safety and excellence in clinical practice.
Responsibilities: Conducts assessments, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using evidence-based practices. Partners with patients and families to deliver relationship-based, culturally sensitive care. Coordinates safe and effective care delivery, promotes teamwork, participates in performance improvement, and supports professional development and mentorship. Advocates for evidence-based practice, research, and adherence to policies and standards. Contributes to resource planning and protocol development to optimize outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills: Licensure as an RN with valid certification (BLS required). Preferred Bachelor’s degree; less than one year of clinical experience post-nursing education required. Strong critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and adherence to ethical standards are essential.
Key Duties: Provide patient-centered care, collaborate with healthcare team members, support quality improvement initiatives, and uphold professional and organizational standards. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements. Support resource management and participate in ongoing education and mentorship to foster a qualified workforce.
