Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Analytics, the Power BI Developer will support enterprise reporting across Operations, Clinical, and Finance domains. This role is responsible for translating business and clinical requirements into governed, scalable Power BI solutions while maintaining and enhancing existing reports within our analytics ecosystem. This position combines strong technical expertise with the ability to partner closely with SMEs, business stakeholders, and data engineering teams in a regulated healthcare environment. This is a hands-on delivery role, not an architecture or people-management position.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


- Work with business, clinical, and finance stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting requirements
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards
- Build and maintain Power BI semantic models using DAX and established data modelling patterns
- Implement security features such as row-level security (RLS)
- Ensure reports are performant, user-friendly, and analytically sound
- Write and maintain SQL queries to support reporting needs from data warehouse and operational sources
- Validate data accuracy and reconcile discrepancies with upstream data sources
- Collaborate with data engineering teams when data issues or enhancements are required
- Support existing Power BI reports, including bug fixes, enhancements, and performance improvements
- Troubleshoot report refresh failures, data issues, and user-reported defects
- Participate in deployment, release, and change management processes
- Develop within the company’s analytics governance framework, including security, naming, and documentation standards
- Follow established development workflows and contribute to team documentation and best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring the successful completion of projects and the satisfaction of project stakeholders.






Required Education and Experience:


- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum 7+ years of experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards in a professional setting
- Solid working knowledge of SQL, including joins, aggregations, and basic query optimization
- Hands-on experience with DAX, including measures and calculated column
- Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
- Experience supporting production BI reports and responding to user issues






Preferred Qualifications:


- Healthcare industry experience (clinical, operational, or financial reporting)
- Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI handling, and data security best practices
- Exposure to Azure-based data platforms (Azure SQL, Synapse, Fabric, etc.)






Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


- Skilled in Agile practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and writing.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to implement reporting solutions.
- Working knowledge of STAR schema modeling patterns for PowerBI Development.
- Ability to have a flexible perspective when approaching familiar and unfamiliar work projects.
