Job Description
Role Overview: A full-time Radiation Oncology Physicist provides comprehensive medical physics support for radiation therapy services, including external beam, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (IEMA, NRC, ACR, DNV).
• Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, and quality assurance programs.
• Develop, implement, and maintain departmental physics policies and procedures.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer, leading radiation safety, shielding, and radioactive material management.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists for treatment planning and delivery.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety meetings, and strategic planning.
• Support staff and student education, orientation, and technical training.
• Contribute to innovation, clinical projects, and program development within radiation oncology.
Qualifications & Skills
• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or related field.
• ABR Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA).
• Preferred experience in medical physics or clinical settings.
