The Greater Manchester Region boasts approximately 2,500 dedicated employees. This area includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community facility, Rockville General, a 102-bed campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a large multispecialty provider group, and visiting nurse services, serving a diverse region of 300,000 people across 19 towns.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Registered Nurse in our Oncology/MedSurg unit, you will:
• Provide high-quality direct and indirect patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
• Effectively communicate the patient's clinical condition, responding swiftly and accurately to any changes in their status or treatment response.
• Exhibit knowledge of growth and development principles to provide age-appropriate care for our diverse patient population.
• Promote nursing professionalism through supportive interactions with colleagues.
This position reports directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing, licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut.
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support required upon hire or to be obtained during the new employee orientation period. You must also maintain clinical competency throughout your employment.
COMPETENCIES:
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
• Basic computer proficiency is required.
